History
Formation (1992-1997)
In the early 1990s, members of the band Muse have each in their schools. Formation MUSE Matthew Bellamy began when 14-year-old had passed an audition to get in Dominic Howard's band. When their bassist decided to leave, they asked their good friend, Chris Wolstenholme, to join and learn the bass guitar. Chris had refused, but finally decided to join. This new band had changed its name many, among others, 'Gothic Plague', 'Carnage Mayhem', 'Fixed Penalty', and 'Rocket Baby Dolls', until finally the name Muse is now known. Chronological order of the band name changes are not clear, because the Muse gave inconsistent information in their interviews.
In 1994, still with the band name 'Rocket Baby Dolls', a competition they won the Battle of the Bands local. [2] [3] And not long after this, they changed their name to Muse, moving from Teignmouth and began performing in various clubs such as the Cavern in Exeter. [4]
E.P. and Showbiz (1998-2000)
After several years building a fan, Muse played the first concerts they were in London and Manchester. The band had a meeting with Dennis Smith, owner of Sawmills recording company, based in Cornwall, England.
This meeting led to the first official recording of Muse, the EP self-titled (berjudulkan band name) who use the label Sawmills, Dangerous. [2] Then EP to-2 they, Muscle Museum, ranked 3rd on the indie charts and received the attention of British music journalist influential, Steve Lamacq, and the British weekly music magazine NME. Dennis Mills and helped build the music company Taste Media, which made for Muse (Muse uses this label for their first 3 albums). This is a very profitable thing to Muse because they can maintain the uniqueness of their music at the beginning of their careers.
Although E.P. to-2 they were quite successful, the British music companies remain reluctant to back Muse, and many people in the music industry considers the music of Muse is too similar to Radiohead, as well as new bands other British time. However, the U.S. company Maverick Records to promote Muse to appear several times in the United States until the end of their contract on December 24, 1998. [5] After coming back from America, Taste Media Muse awarded contracts for the record companies in Europe and Australia. John Leckie, who produced albums for Radiohead, Stone Roses, "Weird Al" Yankovic and The Verve, made the first album producer Muse, Showbiz. [2] [3]
The launch of this album was followed by appearances on the tour supporting the band Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers in the United States. In 1999 and 2000, Muse played at several music festivals in Europe and Australia, and collected a lot of new fans in Western Europe.
Origin of Symmetry and Hullabaloo Soundtrack (2001-2002)
2 albums to their Origin of Symmetry, by John Leckie as producer, the music contains a heavier and darker, with a deep bass voice and distorted. Muse experimented with musical instruments that are not commonly used, such as a church organ, Mellotron, drums and additional equipment. Muse rely more high voice Bellamy, with the strains of guitar arpeggios and piano playing that sounds obvious, which is inspired by Romanticism movement in particular Russian musician Sergei Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. Some songs such as "Space Dementia" has elements of classical music is more viscous by Rachmaninoff. Bellamy also said that the influence of the famous guitarist Jimi Hendrix and Tom Morello (guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) in the melodic guitar on some of the last songs in this album. [6] There is also recycled from the song "Feeling Good", which originally made by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse and popularized by Nina Simone.
Origin of Symmetry obtain a variety of assessment from various music critics. Dean Carlson of Allmusic considered the game too much like Radiohead Muse, and consider their songs are too excessive and difficult to accept. "[7] In contrast, Roger Morton, NME gives the value of 9 / 10 for this album, commented on the dark side and dare of the Muse , even considered that Bellamy is more 'crazy' from Thom Yorke, Radiohead singer. [8] The album has the potential to make Muse increasingly popular in the United States, but the Mavericks did not agree with Bellamy's vocal style is deemed unsuitable for broadcast radio and asked Muse to change some of their songs before released in the United States. Muse refused this request and left the record company Maverick, which resulted in no release of the album Origin of Symmetry is in the U.S. (the album finally released in the area on September 20, 2005, after Muse establish a contract with Warner ).
Muse appearances during the promotion the album Origin of Symmetry managed to attract many Pengemar Muse and build a reputation as a live band with appearances remarkable. This reputation brought Hullabaloo Muse to release a soundtrack, a DVD containing their appearance at Le Zenith in Paris, France in 2001. Then at the same time, they also released a double album that contains B-sides and recordings of performances at Le Zenith. Double album A-side single was also released, with two new songs is "In Your World" and "Dead Star", which is different from the style of opera other songs on Origin of Symmetry.
